An ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat) specialist is a physician
who is trained in the
medical and surgical treatment of the ears, nose, as well as other related structures of the neck and head. They also have special expertise in managing the diseases which tends to occur in the ears, nose and nasal passage sinuses, oral cavity and upper pharynx (mouth and throat), the voice box (larynx), as well as structures of the face and neck.

This includes medical and surgical treatment for hearing disorders, ear infections, balance disorders, facial nerve or cranial nerve disorders, as well as management of congenital (birth) and cancerous disorders of the outer and inner ear,
One of the primary skills of an ear nose and throat doctor is care of the nasal cavity and sinuses. In addition, and ENT’s area of expertise also includes management of the disorders of paranasal sinuses, nasal cavity, sense of smell, allergies, nasal respiration (which means breathing). It also includes the external appearance of the nose. This is because in a lot of cases of cosmetic surgery, ENTs are appointed to provide recommendations about the surgery.
